Stop Standardized Testing

Boycott the Test!

Welcome to my blog*.

The main purpose here is to provide a resource and sounding board for people who want to know an alternative point of view for people on the issue of standardized testing in Ontario schools.

Standardized testing is one of the most wasteful, anti-student and a meaningless process that makes public education less effective as a tool for social advancement.

It is time that parents take control of this destructive process by joining a boycott of the tests. Perhaps this blog will lead to this.

Articles and rants can be accessed on the right. Your comments would be welcome.

  1. Great service to Toronto parents, Errol. We’ll put a link on our website.

  2. I am a parent of an 8 year old in grade 3. I am against eqao and do not want her to take part in the tests. They are occuring later this week. The principal at the school indicated she didn’t think we had a choice despite my arguments against it. Is this true and will she have to do it or can I just keep her home?

  3. My understanding is that any parent can opt their child out of the tests. They can not count as part of the child’s academic standing. I would suggest that you contact the Principal’s boss, the superintendent. Complain that the principal is forcing your child to take the test. I just wish more were like you. We could kill this thing.

You could also call the EQAO and ask about it.
